Excellence is neither occasional nor accidental. It is in everything a person or business does, or nothing at all. We started Hydra Industries in 2003, and from day one, this has been our mandate to live by. 

We don’t have unsatisfied customers because "good enough" is not allowed in our vocabulary. There is only our personal best every time, and no job is complete until the customer is thrilled. 

Things have changed in the services we offer over the years, and that has made life in business a truly enjoyable adventure. Hence, the multi headed hydra in our logo. Our first contract 23 years ago was blowing insulation in an attic, and from there we went on to insulate thousands of attics across western Canada, as well as fully insulate new homes for countless home builders.

Personally, my favorite part of business has always been making friends with truly amazing people and meeting some extraordinary characters along the way. The stories we all could share would fill a library.

Today, many years later, Vancouver Island is our home, and we are still crawling around in the attics. As it always was and always will be, it's still a small family business, and we still love every minute of it. 

My wife Melissa and I are hands on the tools every day, and all three of our sons grew into young men working alongside us. From negative 30 degrees on the prairie to 50 above in attics on sunny summer island days, it has always been a joy working as a team. Our sons have grown and found their own paths now, and my nephew has joined me and Melissa in our new chapter. He is hard working, clever, and great with marketing. He is also the proud father of twin boys. Melissa works double time. She works on site during the day, then handles all of the paperwork behind the scenes in the evening. 

These days, our focus has shifted from insulation to mould remediation. Not just attics, but all mould related issues in the home. From the attic to cold spots in walls to the crawlspace. Having insulated homes for years, we have an intimate understanding of what is going on behind the drywall and what is causing the mold. 

Creating innovative systems and processes has always been the true key to our vault. We have developed extremely effective mould remediation systems that are equally cost-effective for the homeowners. With our west coast rainforest climate, mould is a wildly common and serious issue. Over the years, we have become the go-to trusted experts for realtors who run into mould issues when buying and selling homes. 

Our model is to take the call, get in, remediate the mold, identify the cause, rectify the problem, and get the home back on track for sale immediately. That dedication to efficiency has earned us a tremendous following of loyal clientele and an endless stream of confident referrals.
